7 Easter Eggs That Were Never Found - Part II
On the last episode of Easter Eggs That WereNever Found, I covered 7 easter eggs known
to exist but were never truly solved, onlyfor the community right here to solve several
of those eggs shortly after the video’srelease, including the 16-year-old mystery
of the literal out of bounds easter egg inFuturama, as well as the developer appearances
in Mario’s Early Years, solved after twoand a half decades without even looking in
the game’s code.
If you want to see more about those finds, check out my video Top 10 Mysteries and Discoveries
of 2019. But since so many people are stillstuck at home, likely running out of things
to do at this point, what better time to diveinto 7 more easter eggs that still haven’t
been found… Part II… brought to you bySurfshark, use the link and promo code down

Battlefield V.
In February of this year, The Solomon Islandsmap was added to Battlefield V; and with it
shortly after came a tweet from developerNiklas Astrand, who said that an unfound easter
egg remained on the map that still had yetto be found; and even promised to send this
t-shirt to the first player who managed tofind it, but not before he made a reference
to the movie Predator...
“You ain’t afraid of no man!”
“There’s something out there waiting for us...
And it ain’t no man.”
He added that the easter egg was completelyrandom, and with that, for the sake of a free t-shirt
players dedicated days, weeks, andmonths into searching for the egg, digging
up some pretty convincing evidence along theway…
Yet, Niklas told them they weren’t gettingany closer. It didn’t take long for players
to begin hacking through the game - becausethis is a free t-shirt we’re talking about here...
...and managed to find audio that surelybelonged to the Predator...
[Predator noises]
As well as an awfully suspicious folder labeled “EasterEgg”
...that contained a single banana leaf with green blood.
Players also found a single banana in a truckon the map that couldn’t be found anywhere
else in the game… which... maybe is actuallyjust a banana in a truck.
Annd, that’s.. pretty much where the trailends. My only hope now is they don’t end
up removing it just because players are gettingtoo close to solving it, which is supposedly
what happened with the staircase to heaveneaster egg, covered in my mysteriously removed
easter eggs video… where players unlockeda hidden staircase puzzle in a climb to the sky
that unfortunately disappeared almostas soon as they found it.
Which, by the way, may also be still an unsolvedeaster egg in the game, as multiple people
have submitted me discoveries suggesting it’sstill somewhere to be found on the practice range...
...such as The Owl who noticed the samesound that originally triggered the egg in
a new location…
[mysterious noises]
...or Thomas who heard thisunsettling noise when playing on the map…
[echoey haunting cries]
Uh...
[more haunting moans]
Okay, well I’m not sure how that one connectsbut that's definitely weird.
[haunting scream]
Xbox.
Thanks to Alma Elma for submitting this mysteryon my discord.
On September 26, 2017, Xbox developer SeamusBlackley sent out a tweet saying Microsoft
was struggling to find the original boot screenvideo for the original Xbox, and revealed
they were never going to find it as it’snot actually a video but an animation that
the console renders in real-time.
After everybody had a long laugh at Microsoft,Blackley revealed that an easter egg remained
with the opening sequence no one ever managedto find.
A little while later, Seamus was asked againto clarify if he meant the animation being
rendered in real time was the easter egg.
“It’s not that.”
Another user asked, “Could you give us ahint?”
To which he said...
“Nope.”
Through the years hackers have found suspiciouscode in the data in the opening sequence that
seemed to be linked to the easter egg, butnone of them ever seemed to provide anything
close to a solution.
Welp, looks like it’s time to boot up theold Xbox…
Oh wait.
That's right...
Well that one was a piece of junk…looks like it’s time to order another.
[crash sound]
Homefront: The Revolution.
In my video Discoveries Never Meant to BeFound Part III, I discussed how two levels
of Time Splitters 2 could be found as a hiddeneaster egg in Homefront during the normal
game. Yet curiously, dataminers found thatthe entire game of Time Splitters 2 could
be found in Homefront’s files with everyasset and resource completely redone from
the ground up..
Well, thanks to a confirmed developer whochose to be anonymous… let’s just say
there is something in the game still waitingto be found. And I know you can’t see me
right now, but I hope it was clear that Iwas winking at you while I was saying that.
James: He hit me up too, Odd.-WOAH!
Holy [bleep]! Come on, James! Don’tscare me like that!
James: Sorry, Odd. To reaffirm Odd’s story,I too was hit up by the same developer saying
there was an easter egg still to be foundbut he didn’t have much to say… we figure
we’d leave it up to the community to figureout the rest of the pieces from here since
its probably better than getting the answerout of him and getting him into some sort
of trouble.
Thanks again James, and uh... next time give mea heads up when you’re comin'.
James: No problem. Anytime, Odd.
Rage .
Thanks to BleedingNose for submitting thisunfound easter egg
through my website Oddheader.com.
In 2011, right after Rage’s release, playersnoticed throughout the game on certain maps,
if items were clicked on in random spots onthe object, a small flash would emit from
the item… when these secret flashes werestrung together, they would unlock secret
rooms referencing Id Software’s previoustitles, Quake, Doom and Wolfenstein.
BleedingNose however was messing around onthe map Dead City Central a couple years ago
and came across another random trigger onthis drawer, even though there was never a
secret combination found on the map. Pressingforward, Nose found another button here…
Here…
Here…
...and even as soon as this week:
Here.
When I asked him how he found these, he saidthat while the first were an accident, the
rest were found by endlessly clicking on everything. If you were to look up “dedication” in
the dictionary you would find BleedingNose.
And is it a coincidence there’s a statuehere from Duke Nukem 3D on the very same map?
I’m just guessing here but I kind of havea feeling it’s an unfound duke nukem room.
Or perhaps ID made this one impossible toactivate because most people would probably
rather forget about Duke Nukem at this point.
Inside.
Thanks to KotoBlade and Charr for their submissionsthrough Oddheader.com. Playdead’s ominous
2016 title Inside is a must play for fansof the dark and unknown, as Inside is a giant
enigma from the moment the game begins tileven after its credits roll.
Not long after the game’s release players, began an extensive thread on Steam cataloguing
all of the game’s many mysteries.
One of the first things noticed was if playerswaited long enough in this hidden darkroom,
one of the photos would develop into anotherpicture, which was of another random location
in the game. No further connections with thelocation have been found.
Players also noticed secret ciphers on thewindows of specimen chambers in the game.
Three chambers were decoded and ended up beingthe title to the E.E Cumming’s poem, “Pity
this busy monster, manunkind.” However, this cipher remains unsolved, and the cipher
for specimen 2 was never found in the gameat all, even though it appears in the game’s
trailer.
Perhaps most curious were discoveries madeby dataminers, who noticed in the file’s
models and scripts for a secret elevator thatwas never found in the game, supposedly hidden
somewhere in the cornfield. With it was aunique control panel, a hidden tunnel, and
a skeleton frame of a mysterious creaturethat’s only seen once near the end of the game.
None of this was ever found.
Lastly a printer was noticed in the backgroundthat appeared to be printing morse code symbol
by symbol, which altered depending on whichconsole the game was playing on.
The code when organized were actually illustrationswith more ciphers waiting to be solved.
While players never solved the pictures onthe PS4 or PC versions, they did manage to
solve the others, and then noticed on June4, 2018 a printer icon was added to the Playdead
website and found if they input the codesinto the subscribe bar and then hit the icon,
it would print out more ciphers and still-unsolvedimages.
Some players entered their email into thebar and hit the printer icon and received
an email that led them to a random YouTubestream… which has never gone live to this
day..
Things remained silent until two months ago, when some of those who finally received their
collector’s edition of the game noticedthere were packaging stickers that looked
like they held more hidden codes… whichI don’t think I like that. What if someone
unaware of this whole mystery tossed thisaside thinking it was just a part of the packaging?
What a horrible end to this whole thing thatwould be...
Rayman: Revolution.
Thanks to Ribshark for submitting this mysteryto me through my website Oddheader.com. Ribshark
explained in 2010, 11 years after Rayman 2’srelease, a player on the Rayman Pirate forums
pointed out an easily missed hole on the levelTomb of The Ancients.
By hacking the PC version, players managedto get into the tunnel, and found a blocked
off area with an unknown huge assed dude playinga guitar.
With the use of the map viewer on the Raymapwebsite, we can see that the front part of
the dude is actually unmodeled, still givingus no clue who the big guy actually is.
After months of investigating, a cheat codewas found to work exclusively on the Dreamcast,
as they found by pressing A B X Y X Y a boxwould appear allowing them to reach the hole.
Inside they found hints for additional cheatsfor the game that was never found before
that only were ever found on the Dreamcast version.
Then nearly another 10 years later in 2019,another code was found to do the same thing
on the PC version by typing in PLAYJEFF..
Then only three months ago, another code wasfound to work on the N64 version. The room
was found altogether accessible on the PC,Dreamcast, N64, and 3DS versions. The room
is also in the Nintendo DS, the iOS, and thePlaystation 2 versions but a way to access
it in those versions has never been found.
At this point it seems highly plausible there's still a combination to get into the room.
But what the combinations is as well as whoseass that is that we’re supposed to be staring at from
this tunnel... remains a mystery.
Trials Rising.
Thanks to Jason Hill and Cristown for submittingthis mystery through oddheader.com. Trials
is a series known for some amazingly elaborateeaster eggs, and the latest game Trials Rising
is no exception.
The bigger mystery here however begins in2012, as Trials Evolution had a huge riddle
in it that after 2 years of trying to crack, eventually provided players coordinates that
led them out of the game and into the realworld to find actual chests scattered across
the globe.
Inside each chest was a key and metal plaque, the plaque with an inscription stating that
in the year 2113, five keys could be broughttogether to open a box under the Eiffel tower.
The only problem was: only four keys wereever found.
Eventually another box was found related tothe puzzle, containing an actual 300-year-old
document about the sale of a French property,as well as this secret message. The director
of the game later confirmed he made sure this2113 event would actually occur and was not
a joke, although he encouraged players tofocus on the fact that all of the game’s
content took place in settings that were ahundred years apart, and to strongly focus
on the last found message.
That’s where the case remained for about7 years, until the release of Trials Rising
in 2019. Players uncovered a secret area onthe map Temple of the Trials, but noticed
instead of doing the course and grabbing thecollectible, if they waited on the first platform,
the four flames around them would change colorand reveal a hidden portal, which dropped
them into this ominous scene.
In the following months players found a numberof secret rooms by bailing into exact spots
on each of the levels. Each one of these roomscontained different colors matching the flames,
as well as a different melody that would playin each room.
Players figured out each note of the melodiesrepresented a different prompt on the controller,
and when they went back to this screen andinput the combination… these ciphers were
revealed… which, as you may have guessed, are still unsolved to this day.
Then a particularly unusual recent discoverywas found by accelerating back and forth on
this platform behind the start of the levelOil Say, which teleports you to this intensely
psychedelic path that goes on for seeminglyforever, ending with a particularly bizarre
secret message…
Okay, well uh, guess we’ll just wait forthat then. Well, I mean, while we wait, I guess I’ll go
ahead and tell you about Surfshark. If thismystery ends up with you traveling across
the globe looking for that missing fifth key,you may just notice you are unable to access
some of your favorite content in other partsof the world, something that annoys me all
the time. Thankfully Surfshark has a no bordersmode, which allows me to access internet from
any region in the world. It also comes withindustry-leading encryption so you don’t
end up getting hacked and it being coveredon this channel. Go to surfshark.deals.oddheader

Okay, where we at? Oh my god, it’s stillnot over?
Finally, there it is! Huh... That definitely
seems to be implying there still somethingout there in the world to be found.
Really hoping that the year 2113 was justa mislead because I would honestly like to
see this one before my consciousness getsuploaded to the cloud.
